Color Management
With the help of the color management subsystem you can obtain an impression of how an image will appear (on a printer, for instance). For this it is essential to implement a monitor profile which has been generated for the PC screen in question by means of hardware calibration.Of course, it is not possible to provide a 100% correct preview, because the image is displayed on the screen using an additive technique (i.e. when all three primary colors are overlaid with each other the result is white), whereas the printer works according to a subtractive principle (i.e. when all the colors are applied the result is black).
Nevertheless, the Output preview makes sense within the limitations described above, for the function provides a good impression of of what the result will look like, allowing you to optimize the image in respect of the output device.
