Color Balance

The four sliders allow you to alter the red, green, blue and white proportions in the image. Values exceeding 128 (null position) add more of the respective fraction to the image, whereas values below 128 reduce it. If Fix brightness is checked, the total brightness of the image remains constant.


Areas of use

• Alternative to white balance where there are no neutral gray areas in the image and it does not contain grainy, coarse and/or noisy parts. Where the image has overexposed areas, these must also display a color cast.
• For proper correction Fix brightness must be activated.
• Often used for creative image manipulation, usually together with masking for color gradients and coloring of sky, water, vegetation etc.
